So here we go again. We were finally ready to move into our new remodeled home that Sunny and David helped us purchase and say goodbye to our house of 15 years that we’ve outgrown. The dynamic duo came up with a plan to gauge interest in the house with an off-market showing because we were hoping to sell quickly. Unfortunately, because our house was on the smaller side, the interest was limited and we did not come away with an offer we desired. However, with the off-market showing, we now know what issues needed to be addressed. Using their great contacts, we were able to quickly remodel the house addressing concerns from the open house and then stage the house beautifully for the second open house. We received over 20 new offers when the house went back on the market and was able to get our home sold over our asking price. We’ve referred more friends and family to them when they were ready to sell and buy and they’ve all been ecstatic with their service.

This is a belated review on the awesome dynamic duo known as Sunny and David. My wife and I use Yelp frequently but always view the reviews with a grain of salt. When it was time for us to look for a bigger home, we used Yelp to select three realtors who we thought would match our needs. We had a not so great experience with our previous realtor (whom we used on advice of a family member) and so we entered these meetings intent on making sure the match was better this time. We met with the first two realtors and thought not bad but the meetings didn’t really resonate. We entered our meeting with Sunny on a Sunday morning at her office in Los Altos with some anxiety. To be honest, when we entered the Alain Pinel office, we thought there’s no way we’re in the price range of her clientele. Everything seemed so opulent with brochures showcasing multimillion dollar homes. However, meeting with Sunny put us at ease. Maybe it’s her legal training, but she presented her “case” with great polish and answered all of our questions, however silly it may seem. We mentioned that the other realtors had required a contract and fee for their services. She stated that she doesn’t require fees and contract and that our working relationship should be built on mutual trust. If either party felt that the relationship wasn’t working, they should be free to walk away without any barriers. That sold us. She and her partner, David, helped focus our attention on realistic areas where the real estate would fit our priorities (close to work, cul de sac neighborhood, good schools, price, etc). Once we found something we loved, she helped us beat 2 other all cash offers by selling our story to the real estate agent and by helping us find an excellent bank in Everhome (and lending agent in Cammie Brodie) who was able to help us close escrow within three weeks. She was also able to negotiate a significant drop in the sales price when issues popped up with the property. After the sale, David also helped us find our architect and a tenant for the house while we planned on our remodel. When they talk about having a network of contacts for different services, they were not kidding. We send questions to them from time to time in our remodel planning and they’ve taken the time to answer our questions and make recommendations. From meeting with Sunny to closing escrow on our Los Gatos home, it took a little under 2 months. Are we happy with Sunny and David? Absolutely! How much? We’re going to ask her to help sell our current Milpitas house 🙂
