Situated between Page Mill Road and West Meadow Drive, and El Camino Real and Alma Street, Ventura has the feeling of a secluded Palo Alto neighborhood, yet it is still near shopping and restaurants on California Avenue and El Camino Real. And, for the musically inclined, Gryphon Stringed Instruments sits on the corner of Park Boulevard and Lambert Avenue.
Ventura’s layout of primarily one-story cottages came to fruition mostly after World War II, with the GI Bill offering lower interest rates for returning veterans.
Changes to the neighborhood have brought several apartment buildings and the occasional two-story home to the area.
